VOLUNTEERING: A NEXUS TO CURBING THE INFLUX OF DEPRESSION

DEPRESSION! DEPRESSION!! DEPRESSION!!!

Depression is a fast and serious medical illness that negatively affects how you feel, the way you think and how you act which is widely major death cases nowadays.

Everyone gets depressed at one point or the other in varying degrees.
I remember growing up very depressed as a result of low self esteem and several other things. Thanks to different measures that helped me got back to myself.

Suicidal rates are increasing day by day.
Several medications and treatment have been proposed as a means to curb depression.

But there is one most effective way to curb depression which is “Social Treatment” in form of called Volunteering…

According to Wikipedia “Volunteering is generally considered an altruistic activity where an individual or group provides services for no financial or social gain “to benefit another person, group or organization”. Volunteering is also renowned for skill development and is often intended to promote goodness or to improve human quality of life . Volunteering may have positive benefits for the volunteer as well as for the person or community served.”

It simply means you willingly offer to give your little support in ways you can.

Instead of allowing depression take hold of you, you can seize the opportunity to do something for your community.
Volunteer to help in programs, seminars, outreaches, events and ceremonies.

Volunteering will help boost your confidence.
Volunteering helps keep your mind and body alive.
Volunteering brings fun and fulfillment to your life as put smile on peoples faces.
Volunteering can advance your career.
Volunteering helps get over your challenges instead of allowing them to hinder your progress.

Say No To Depression and improve your mental health.
You’ve got to stay healthy always.
